Principal's Message

Dear Students and Parents,

It is my distinct honor to be serving as your Middle School Principal.  This year will certainly be unlike any before.  I want you to know that we are here to work with our families through any challenges and successes that come your way!  Whether you are coming to the school campus or working from home on Volusia Live, our teachers will continue to offer rigorous instruction for all of our students!

This district's theme this year is:

"Together, we are Stronger!" and we can't think of a better theme for our Gators.  As a community, we will work together for our students and our communities as we try to get back to a sense of normalcy.

This year, our major school wide focuses will be on math, English/Language Arts and Social Emotional Education for all.

We will continue to use Wednesdays for SWAMP time.  This time will be dedicated to remediation, retesting and enrichment.  Swamp Time will continue to allow us time to meet the Secondary grading guidelines.  Students will have opportunities for remediation, reassessment, and enrichment at least two Wednesdays a month.  We encourage you to check your child's progress weekly via the online Gradebook.

In order to fulfill our commitment to student achievement, we will be spending most days every week in classrooms to help improve the teaching and learning that happens on a daily basis.  Therefore, we may not always be available to speak with you when you drop in or telephone us. However, we really do value communicating with you.  So, when you would like to speak with a member of the administrative team, please contact our secretaries who will schedule a time for us to talk.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and your patience and understanding as we implement these practices.

Go Gators!
